The University was established under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002.The University is presently located in Vellore Fort, which is one of the monuments of the Vellore Town. The approximate circumference of the fort is 2600 meters.

Application Fee-
Application and Registration fee is Rs.500/- in person
Rs.550/- by post. SC/ST and Differently abled candidates need not pay application fee but to pay registration fee of Rs.250/- in person and by post Rs.300/-.
Candidates who have downloaded the application shall have to pay Rs.500/-. All payments must by made through Demand Draft.
No Cash payment will be accepted. The Demand Draft Should be drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore-632 004, payable at Vellore.
