UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC)GEOLOGISTS' EXAMINATION , 2010 |(Assistant / Junior) Geologist Posts Exam

The Union Public Service commission (UPSC) Is Conducting Geologists Examination 2010 the Geologists’ Examination 2010 will hold commencing from 4th December, 2010 for recruitment to Geologist (Junior), Group A and Assistant Geologist Grade-I, Group B in the Geological Survey of India and Jr. Hydro geologists (Scientist B) Group A in the Central Ground Water Board. The examination will be held at various centers across the country. Last Date To Apply: 19.7.2010 For candidates of far-flung areas and abroad the last date is 26.7.2010

Conditions of Eligibility:
Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st January, 2010. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules.
Qualification:
A candidate must hold
(i) Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized University or
(ii) Master’s Degree in Mineral Exploration or
(iii) Master’s Degree in Hydrology or
(iv) Diploma of Associate ship in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Geologist’s Examination, 2009 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Application form: The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the commission for its examination, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- Rs. 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees.

SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees. All applicants must reach the “Secretary, Union Public Service commission, Dholpur house, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi – 110069? either by hand or by Post/Speed Post only or by Courier, on or before 19/07/2010 For candidates of far-flung areas and abroad the last date is 26th July, 2009.
